Today started with a lovely breakfast with Sarah at a pub in the Cotstwolds. She dropped me to the place where she had picked me up yesterday and so began Day 5 with a smile on my face and really nice weather.
It didn’t take long for me to get lost. Twice in Gloucester and several times on country roads. I also struggled to make the mileage – closing on 71 miles – not the hundred planned. But I ended the day happy.
I had a moment where I either stopped todays riding and stay in Bewdley or try and make it to Bridgnorth, 30 hilly kilometres north. I stuck in Bewdley – and it has worked out well. The B&B is fantastic – a beautiful Georgian house run by an absolutely lovely couple who have chatted with me for hours. The town of Bewley is also an unknown gem with a really nice river front, Georgian architecture, a buzzing micro brewery and lots of friendly people (see pics).
Lunch was also perfect. Who knew that Worcester has a lovely waterfront? I sat at Browns restaurant outside and ate a massive salad and chips whilst the sun shone and the river flowed by.
Todays ride lasted just over 7 hours which has meant Im eating dinner early with time to write the blog and plan tomorrow and get back into the rhythm of the bike (not the rhythm of the night).
Thanks for reading and Ill update with less Bewdley based comments and pictures tomorrow.
